Charles Martin SR.

“Father Charles” as he is affectionately referred to, was formerly employed at Teledyne Landis Machine Company in Waynesboro for almost 30 years. Retirement was not exciting enough so he became involved in funeral services from “helping” his son, Charles Jr. who at the time also worked at our funeral home. “Charlie” knows first hand how devastating the loss of a loved one can be. Losing his 31 year old daughter Renee in 1989, and his beloved wife, Shelvey in 2001, has given him an understanding that goes beyond empathy. Charlie remarried in 2004 to his current wife, Betty. His love for the funeral home inspired them to actually hold their ceremony here! They have a beautiful, mutually caring relationship, which is an example for us all. A tireless worker, he possesses a keen eye for detail. He is responsible for most of the re-decorating at the funeral home and has done a fantastic job. Charlie greets every person that walks through the door with a respectful, “Hello, Thank you for coming.” Whether as an interior decorator or funeral home employee, “Father Charles” always has time to sit and talk about how things are with you.

Ron is an active member of St. John's United Methodist Church where he is head of the adminstrative council. Ron's wit and humor are a constant source of pleasure to all he encounters. Ron is married to Louise and has two children, Gregory and Melissa and is Grandfather of three.
