John Richard Buhrman

John Richard (Dick) Buhrman, 69 of Chambersburg, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at home. He was born on March 1, 1953 in Waynesboro, PA, the son of the late Lawrence and Jeannette Buhrman. He was a member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church and a 1968 graduate. He attended C.A.S.H.S. and received his diploma in 1971. John devoted 48 years of his career at Lyons and Company. He formed lifelong friendships with owner Gregg Lyons and Dennis Thomson. He was a master of coordinating clothing to fit individuals. He made many friends with the customers he helped. He also enjoyed working at the Fairfield Inn and the JLG house for Dave Munson, providing hospitality to companies all over the world. For the last three years, John served as the Court Crier for the 39th Judicial District - Franklin County Branch and for President Judge Shawn D. Meyers. His co-workers appreciated his caring attitude and professionalism. Not surprisingly, he was generally the best dressed gentleman at the courthouse. He was member of the Rotary Club of Chambersburg and an active volunteer in Pride Franklin County PA. He loved to read, bask in the sun at the pool or lake and visit the Ladew Topiary Gardens. All his life he loved interior decorating and architectural art. He had an innate sense of taste and style. He enjoyed spending time with his friends, Cinda, Kym, Renee and so many more. John will be remembered for his sincere kindness, gentleness, compassion, wit and charisma. He was described by many as first class,a true gentleman and everybody's cheerleader. John is survived by his daughter, Marissa Kyle Shover (Travis) and his grandaughter, Corinne. He was her "G". He is also survived by four brothers: Nicholas (Sharon), Frederick (Sandra), Phillip, Patrick; a sister, Constance Marie Buhrman (Max): a sister in law, Cheryl; nieces, nephews, cousins, his dog, Gracie, who now resides with his friend, Leonard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tom. John's charisma and charm will shine forever. A remembrance service will be held in April, details at a later date. John was proud of his granddaughter, Corinne and her academics at the FCCTC's Nursing Program. He wanted to contribute to her nursing education.
