Obituary

Helen Kalathas,86, passed away May 28, 2020 at Laurel Lakes Rehabilitation and Wellness Center. She was born August 28, 1933 in Neohorion, Greece, the daughter of the late Olga and Periklis Panagos. Helen married John Kalathas on May 22, 1955 and they were married for 42 years until her husband’s death Oct 1, 1997. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Camp Hill, PA and worked alongside her husband, John, for many years at the Famous Lunch and the Texas Lunch Helen’s greatest joys were spending time with her family, gardening, cooking and crocheting. She is survived by her son Nicholas J. Kalathas and his wife, Diane; two grandchildren John N. (Janine) and Lucas W. (Jessica) Kalathas and three great grandchildren: Nicholas J., Lorelai J. and Elizabeth J. Kalathas. Surviving also are her brothers: George P. Panagos, Athanasios P. Panagos and sisters: Vasiliki Lamnatos and Theodora Loukopoulos. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Nicholas P. Panagos. There will be a visitation on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Sellers Funeral Home between 9:00a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Due to the yellow phase of the covid-19 restrictions, groups of 25 will be able to rotates every 15 minutes. There will be a brief break in between groups to sanitize for the next group. Masks and social distancing are respectfully requested. The funeral service will be private for the family and begin at 10:30 with Father Michael Varvarelis, followed by the committal at Norland Cemetery.
