Obituary

Richard L. Yeager, joined the Church Triumphant on Friday, April 24, 2020 at home with his loving wife by his side. Rich was born on November 30, 1943 to the late John and Ethel (Kennedy) Yeager. He attended Chambersburg High School, and married his high school sweetheart, Lorraine Coble in 1963. He worked as an Electrician for Frank B. Lesher Co. Inc. for 57 years and did work for the church during that time and after he retired. Richard is also survived by four daughters, Victoria Yeager and her boyfriend, Jeff Rock, Tina George and her husband, Paul, Teresa Kable and her husband, Brian, and Tracy Bartholomew and her husband, Kevin: five grandchildren, Logan Bartholomew, Morgan and Courtney Kable and Garrett and Taylor George and two brothers: John Yeager, Jr. and Chester Yeager. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Yeager. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church where he served on the Church Council and many other committees, the last one being the Property Committee. He was a member of the George Washington Lodge No. 143. He enjoyed spending time with his loving wife, children and grandchildren. His favorite pastime was hunting with turkey hunting his passion. He also enjoyed gardening, cutting wood (some of which was donated to the Church for outdoor events with a bonfire), and spending time with his family at their cabin at Cowan’s Gap. Graveside services was private due to the pandemic but a Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 99 Miller Road, Chambersburg, PA. Visitation will be at 10a.m., Service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Denise Horn. Memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 3551 N Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19140, the American Cancer Society, https://www.cancer.org, or Salem Lutheran Church, 99 Miller Road, Chambersburg, PA.
