Ms. Beatice Augusta "Bea" Ransom

Beatrice A. "Bea" Ransom, 77, Chambersburg, died on Friday, December 3, 2021. Born June 26, 1944 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Theodore Augusta and Sadie Beatrice (Holly) Ransom. "Peach" as she was affectionately known to family and friends graduated from Chambersburg High School in 1963. She was a life-long learner and continued to acquire academic credits in computer science. Prior to her retirement she was a computer programmer and project manager employed by the Borough of Chambersburg, the Federal Government (working at Letterkenny Army Depot) and the Computer Science Corporation. She was the epitome of a trailblazer who pursued excellence throughout her career. Following retirement, she was planning to begin a career in real estate sales. Bea was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and a long time member of Lebanon Cemetery Association. Bea was a generous supporter of various outreach ministries, community churches and charities. She was a lifetime member of Madison Who's Who Registry of Executives and Professionals and International Who's Who of Information Technology. In 1992 Bea was an Honorable Mention Woman of the Year for the Letterkenny Federal Women's Program. Peach was her family historian and organizer of many family reunions. She was a member of the Chambersburg Reunion of Friends Committee. She is survived by her daughter, Charnell Holly Ransom of Harrisburg, PA and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers Theodore A. Ransom and Larry F. Ransom. Bea was a dog lover. She will be missed by her fur baby and friend Jade. The family will receive friends at Unity In Christ Church, 3401 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, Friday, December 17,, beginning at 10:00 AM. A memorial service will begin at the church at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Dr. Lois A. Waters and Rev. Renata M. Harper officiating. Inurnment will follow in Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Cemetery.
