While in college, he worked for Provion and Allenfield Solutions in Carlisle and interned for a summer at Patton Electronics in Gaithersburg, MD. While interning there, he taught himself C++ and designed a system to automate the testing processes of the company, saving the company valuable time and resources. Dennis later worked for Potential Energy and Royall and Company in Richmond, VA, and Tapestry Technologies in Chambersburg. He has been an invited speaker at Astricon and several other National conferences. where he shared his expertise in internet security and disaster recovery. In 2013, he started his own business, ReliAvail IT Company and used its success to give back to his local community. In 2018, Dennis was honored to be selected as one of the Central Penn Business Journal's best 40 under 40 business leaders. Dennis has always been ready, willing, and able to lend his sweat equity and experience in the service of others. Dennis volunteered on occupational advisory boards for two different Career Tech High Schools. In 2019 Dennis founded Benefit Chambersburg, a community-focused serving organization. Dennis regularly volunteered as a youth soccer coach for the past 3 years with his son's soccer team. He also volunteered with a youth mentoring program while living in Richmond, VA. At the beginning of the pandemic Dennis organized a project to make over 900 face shields for healthcare workers. He designed a low-cost alternative to a 3D printed face shield, organized volunteers to put them together, and finally executed the dispersal to healthcare workers in local nursing homes, Dr’s offices, and even some Navy nurses in New York City. He made his face shield design, costs, and instructions public on his website. Dennis' dedication to his career and community were surpassed only by his devotion to his family and friends, who will tell you that Dennis was always the first to step up and help someone in need. His life and kindness truly touched many people. In a final giving act, Dennis was an organ donor and gifted his lungs and kidneys to two other individuals. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
