Donald E Johns Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Donald E. Johns, 66, of Chambersburg died on Mon., Dec. 4, 2017 at home. He was born June 21, 1951 in St. Thomas, PA, the son of the late Edward and Ermma (Guyer) Johns. He was a 1968 graduate of Mercersburg High School. Donald worked at Apple Way Orchards, Brechbill and Helman and at the Zero and Ice Co. He was a past member of the American Legion Burt J. Asper Post # 46. He enjoyed hunting, NASCAR-his favorite drivers word Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt and Chase Elliot. He liked baking Christmas cookies for family at Christmas time and taking care of the vegetable garden where he grew pumpkins. In addition to his wife, Dixie (Pugh) Johns, he is survived by a stepson, Gerald King; three sisters: Darlene Johns, Nancy Bryan, Linda Fox; two brothers: Carl and Kenneth Johns and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Daryl and Jeffrey Johns and two stepsisters: Kimberly Sue and Danillie Jo King. The funeral service will be held 12 p.m. on Fri., Dec. 8, 2017 at Sellers Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
