    Emmet "Budd" Olver

    October 3, 1926 - February 17, 2013

    Chambg. - E. “Budd” Olver, 86, of Menno-Haven died 10:55 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013 in Menno-Haven. Born October 3, 1926 in Beach Lake, PA, he was the son of the late F. Emmett and Edith VanWert Olver. He was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church where he sang in the choir over 50 years, Budd was also a member of the Kiwanis Club. He and his first wife, Nancy Sherk Olver, who died in 1978, were owner/operators of Sherk's Gifts and Housewares on the corner of Main and Queen Streets. His second wife whom he married 1980, Janet Strite Olver, died April 13, 2011. Surviving are a daughter Susan (Mrs. Jay E.) Keefer, Chambg; son, John S. (husband of Chryl) Columbus, OH; step-children: Dr. James A. (husband of Barb) Strite, Chambg., Kathryn Strite (Mrs. Barry) Caldwell, Lancaster, and the late Betsy Strite Freet; five grandchildren: William (husband of Erin) Keefer, Dr. Nancy Keefer, Fr. Matthew (husband of Kristen) Scott Casey Olver and Beth (wife of Mike) Mattes and five-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 at the Menno-Haven Chapel with Rev. Vernon Isner and Rev. Scott Bowerman officiating. Private burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Central Presbyterian Church, 40 L.W.W. Chambg. PA 17201. Arrangements are by the William F. Sellers Funeral Home.
