    James E. Locke Jr.

    October 10, 1947 - November 19, 2016

    James (Jim) Ellsworth Locke Jr, 69, was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, November 19, 2016. Born in his family home on October 10, 1947 in Burnt Cabins, Pa, he was the son of the late James and Effie (Jaymes) Locke Sr. James attended Southern Huntington County High School. He enlisted in the United States Army and continued his schooling, while there he earned his GED. After his time with the military he continued his education at Hagerstown Junior College, where he studied sheet metal and related training to become a master sheet metal fabricator. He earned his title after four years of schooling.He started his career with Kottcamp Construction, where he worked until he moved on with Masters Construction. He stayed many years, working with them in the D.C. area until he decided to become local again, where he worked with Environmental Comfort until retirement. James loved the mountains and taking walks in them. He loved fishing, arrow head hunting, playing horseshoes and spending time with his loved ones while dong things he loved. He enjoyed arts and crafts as well as canning sauces and other good foods. He enjoyed teaching his kids and later grandchildren the ways of the old days. To be rich in love and family above all monetary gain. He taught them all about nature and ways to survive off the land. He was a man whose heart could hold the world, loving everyone unconditionally. He had many collections and enjoyed working on them with his children and grandchildren. Many who knew him knew he had a heart of gold and a will to help others as best he could. Surviving are his three children; James (wife Tracy) Edward Locke Sr, Chasity (husband Brian) A. Yeager, and James E. Locke III. His grandchildren; Jimmie, Adan, Andrea, Elizabeth, Jesse, and Devon Locke. His sisters Virginia (Terry) Lake and Kathy Shaffer. His nieces and nephews; Tim Grove, Michele Manikis, and Christopher Locke. A brother inlaw Theodore Burgner and two sister in laws Diane (Tom) Carbaugh and Cindy (Danny) Thayer. He was preceded in death by a brother Robert Locke, a niece Bonnie Grove, and his childrens' mother (Chasity and James Locke III) Debra Burgner, and sister in law Tina Burgner. There will be a Memorial Service on December 3,2016 at Pleasant View Mennonite Church from 11 am - 2 pm with the Reverend Harold Yeager officiating. There will be no viewing.
