    Leah Pauline Woodring (Carmack)

    September 4, 1931 - November 30, 2015

    Leah P. Woodring, 84, of Chambersburg passed away on Mon., Nov. 30, 2015 at The Falling Spring Nursing and Rehab. Center. Born Sept. 4, 1931 in Chambg., she was the daughter of the late Leonard P. and Marion P. (Barnhart) Carmack.After graduating from C. H. S. in 1949, Leah attended Chambersburg Business School. She worked in the retail industry at Sears as a cataloger and teletype for 35 Years. After Sears, she worked in banking and at Staples. She was a longtime member of St. John's UCC, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher. Leah was a long time member of W.O.T.M. and Deputy Grand Regent, Life member of Franklin Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, and when her children were younger, she served as President of the PTA.Being a "people person", she loved volunteering and had a passion for helping people most of her life.Surviving are: two sons; John P. (Kathy) West and Tim A. (Nancy) West, four grandchildren: Alyshia, Zachary, Hunter, and Walker; one sister; Saundra Smith and one brother, Leonard Carmack. In addition, to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Woodring, (2011).Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Sat., Dec. 5, 2015, at the William F. Sellers Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Renner officiating. Honors by the W.O.T.M. will be held at 7:30 PM Fri., Dec. 4, 2015 at the Funeral Home. There will be a visitation from 6-7:30 PM and again one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be at Parklawns Memorial Gardens.Memorial contributions may be made to “Moose Charities” W.O.T.M. ch.1128, PO Box 421, Chambg.
