Marilyn S. Angulo (Barney) Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Marilyn B. "Mitzi" Angulo, age 83, of Chambersburg passed away on Friday, August 14, 2015 at home. Born on June 19,1932 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Jean (Space) Barney. Mitzi graduated from Upper Darby High School in 1950 and went on to receive her B.S. in Business Management from Drexel University. She was an active member of St. John's United Church of Christ, where she served as Deacon. Early in her career, she was employed as a business analyst for National Analyst Corporation in Philadelphia. She spent the majority of her life as a devoted wife and mother and community leader in many local area organizations. Mitzi was a member of the Chambersburg YMCA, where she served for over 25 years as a board member. She was a longtime swimming official and diving judge at the high school, college, and YMCA levels. Mitzi was an active volunteer for the HeadStart, Meals on Wheels, and the Franklin Learning Center organizations. She was also a board member for the Gilmore/Hoerner Foundation for the Arts. Mitzi truly enjoyed living life to the fullest. Among her many interests, she enjoyed cooking, tennis, swimming, playing bridge with her friends, and traveling the world with her husband Jerry. Mitzi is survived by her husband, Armand "Jerry" Angulo of 60 years, her daughter; Beverly J.(Neal) of Elverson, PA, her son Paul A. (Christine) of New Hope, PA; four grandchildren; Graham and Shelby Coy, Justin (Moriah) and Mark Laird, and a sister; Susan B. Long of Jenkintown, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister; Janet B. Kofod and a brother; David J Barney. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 21, 2015 at St. Johns United Church of Christ, 1811 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. Mark Ruzicka officiating. At the family's request, memorial contributions may be made to the Chambersburg YMCA, 570 East McKinley Street, The Franklin Learning Center, 2397 Loop Rd., and St Johns UCC.
