    Marsha A Decker (Lehnhart)

    October 18, 1957 - December 6, 2013

Marsha A. Decker, 56, of Chambersburg, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2013 at home. She was born Oct. 18, 1957 in Wausau, Wisconsin, the daughter of Virginia (Hintz) Lehnhart and the late Theodore Lehnhart. She was a 1975 C.A.S.H.S. graduate who married Dwight W. Decker on January 6, 1980. As a military wife, she joined her husband in Holyloch, Scotland before moving to Waynesboro in 1987. A couple of years later, after their son D.J. was born, they moved to Chambersburg where Marsha worked at Schoenbergers Restaurant and started to train as a phlebotomist, later working her way up to Medical Technologist at the Chambersburg Hospital. She went to Wilson College, where she was an excellent student and on the Dean’s List more often than not, graduating in 2012 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree. She enjoyed fishing, especially bass fishing, gardening, knitting and loved her dogs, Grace, Ruth and Naomi. She was very generous and her favorite charity was St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Dwight W. Decker Sr., a son, Dwight W. Decker Jr.; mother, Virginia (Hintz) Lehnhart; three sisters: Gail Baker (Michael), Pamela Coy, Lisa Perkins; a sister in law, Diane Lehnhart, all of Chambersburg; and her mother in law, Nancy M. (Shives) Holmes of Florida; numerous nieces and nephews and great nephews. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Michael and David Lehnhart. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Marsha was loved and admired by her co-workers at Chambersburg Hospital lab. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, https://shop.stjude.org/GiftCatalog/donation.do?cID=14262&pID=24671. A celebration of her life will be held in the spring of 2014.
