Maurice Edward Fitz Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Maurice Edward Fitz Jr, 86, of Fayetteville passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at home. He was born September 27, 1930 in Emmitsburg, MD, the son of the late Maurice E. and Carrie (Wilson) Fitz Sr. He was a 20 year Air Force Veteran Master Sgt. who served in both Vietnam and Korea, retiring in 1971. He received two Air Force Commendation medals among others. He then retired from Letterkeny Army Depot after another 20 years in 1993 and then went on to work as a realtor at Penn First Real Estate. Maurice was a life member of the VFW, Disabled Veterans, American Legion and Adams Co. Fish and Game. He was also a member of the Amvets. In adddtion to hunting, he enjoyed old vehicles. Maurice is survived by his son, Tom Fitz (Karen), two daughters: Deborah Fitz and Linda (Mr. Dennis) Hoover; three grandchildren: Tommy Fitz Jr. (Janine), Kristen Crawford (Trey), Brian Hoover; three great grandchildren: Landen, Charleigh and Aubree and a sister, Jean Hemler. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Delaine Fitz and four siblings: Marie Peterson, Miriam McCaustin, Charles "Bill" Fitz and Richard Fitz. There will be a Memorial service held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the William F. Sellers Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
