    Nancy C Lambert

    October 28, 1932 - July 16, 2017

Nancy J. Lambert, 84, Chambersburg PA and Point Salubruis NY peacefully passed away Sunday evening, July 16th, 2017 at Menno Haven Village while surrounded by her loving family. Born October 28th 1932, the daughter of Frank J. and Muriel M. (Maxon) Casler, Nancy grew up in Northern NY where she was a graduate of Black River High School and the New York State Teachers College at Potsdam where she met and fell in love with her husband, Gordon Lambert (Deceased) whom she married June 23rd, 1956. Nancy briefly taught kindergarten on Long Island, NY followed by a move west to Stockton, CA. Nancy and Gordon eventually settled in Chambersburg, PA in 1962 where she devoted her life to raising a family and becoming an active part of the Chambersburg Community. Nancy taught Elementary Education in the Chambersburg School District but found her passion teaching piano and enjoyed watching her many students’ musical talents flourish. She was a fifty year member of the Presbyterian Church of Falling Spring where she served in many capacities including being a longtime Elder. She was active as a past president of the Franklin County Chapter of the Association of American University Women, a board member of the Children’s Aid Society, The Afternoon Club and The Coyle Free Library Board. She was a tireless volunteer for the Chambersburg Hospital Auxiliary where she served for many years as Corresponding Secretary. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. An ardent supporter of the arts, she could often be found attending many local musical concerts and shows. Nancy spent her summers enjoying her cottage located along the shores of Lake Ontario where she maintained close friendships with many of her neighbors. Surviving are a brother Charles Casler of Sandy Creek, NY, two sons Gregory (Linda) and Geoffrey (Julie) both of Chambersburg PA, and a daughter Julie Marino of Pittsburgh, PA. She was the loving and adored grandmother to Katelin (Harrisburg, PA), Alexandra (Richmond, VA), Rachel Marino (Brooklyn, NY), Taylor (Los Angeles, CA), John Marino (Utica, NY), Morgan (Phoenix, AZ) and Matthew Marino (Pittsburgh, PA). In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a brother Donald. The family will welcome friends on Friday, July 21st at 9 AM in the William F Sellers Funeral Home followed by a memorial service at 11 AM in the Chapel of the Presbyterian Church of Falling Spring, the Reverend Andrew Hart officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to either the Chambersburg Hospital Auxiliary or the Coyle Free Library, both of which she passionately supported.
