    Pamela Rankin

    April 7, 1960 - December 18, 2015

Pamela E. Rankin, 55, of Newville, passed away unexpectedly on December 18, 2015, surrounded by her loved ones. Pam was born on April 7, 1960 in Philadelphia, PA to Donald and Nancy Erickson. She grew up in South Casco, Maine. She graduated third in her class from Lake Region High School. Academics were not her only strength as a student; her senior class dedicated the yearbook to her in recognition of her accomplishments in class government and extracurricular activities. She continued her education at the University of New Hampshire where she studied early education. Growing up, Pam delighted in spending summers at her family's cabin in Maine. "Camp" always held a special place in her heart because it is where she met her future husband, Scott, at age 14. Camp continued to be a family treasure and a source of great memories over the years, involving her sisters, parents, kids, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Scott became her steadfast best friend and the love of her life. They were married on March 11, 1980 and shared more than 36 years of love and happiness. Family always came first for Pam. She and Scott built a homestead in Newville, PA where they loved to host large family gatherings. Nothing gave her greater pleasure than making these gatherings special for everyone. She cherished her children and took great pride in their accomplishments. Pam was devoted to her children and grandchildren and did everything she could to make their lives wonderful. She was homemaker-extraordinaire, and continuously wowed everyone with her crafting, painting, baking, stained glass and gardening abilities. Pam was predeceased by her brother Timothy Brooks Erickson, her mother Nancy Elizabeth Erickson, and her father Donald Gene Erickson. Pam is survived by her adoring husband, Robert Scott Rankin; her children, Robert Brooks Rankin, Rylan (Okie) Rankin; Kathryn (Rankin) Wagner, Peter John Wagner; and her precious grandchildren, Jake Murphy Wagner and Charlotte Joyce Wagner. Pam is also survived by her sisters Amy Erickson Corkhill, Melissa Warren, and Beth Boos. A viewing and remembrance is being held on Sunday, December 20 at the family home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you give a hug and a kiss to someone who is special to you. Tell them how much you love them. We love you, Pam, Pammie, Momma, Grammy. We wish you were here. You will be tremendously missed.
