Suzanne Helena Hrichak

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Suzanne Helena Hrichak, who departed from this world on February 16, 2024. Suzanne was born on June 20, 1953, in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Marian and Michael Hrichak, and later resided in Chambersburg, PA 17201. Suzanne grew up in St. Aidans Parish in Williston Park, went to Maria Regina High School and attended church with her family in her adolescent years. In her early adult life, after moving to San Francisco for a couple of years, she then moved back to New York City and joined her group of friends living in Greenwich Village for the next 25 years. In her later life, she resided in Chambersburg, PA. She was more of a free spirit than someone who conformed to a career in a given industry. She worked in graphic design for several years and then took many different temp jobs through employment agencies over the years she spent living in NYC. It suited her well as she was never one to "climb the corporate ladder" nor did she have the slightest inkling to do so. Suzanne took several courses in graphic arts design and worked in that industry for several years. She was her own person, preferring to stay in the background and not chasing ambition. She loved to explore much of what the big city had to offer by going to museums, small ethnic restaurants, free concerts in parks or music halls,or just strolling through book stores & browsing in thrift shops. Suzanne will be remembered for her kindness, love of laughter and friendliness to all that were around her. She leaves behind fond memories for her surviving relatives, including her younger brother, Michael Hrichak and older sister, Beverly Raymond. During this time, we ask friends and family to keep Suzanne in their thoughts and prayers and to celebrate the life she lived. May Suzanne rest in peace, knowing that her legacy will endure through the light that she has shone upon the world. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with Fr. Allen F. Wolfe Officiating.
